CD/DVD cd-key

Hi, why I must buy game on sten when I have game on cd/dvd but steam don't accept cd-key. I don't need 2 version normal with cd/dvd and with steam, I need one version. I don't buy game on steam when I have on cd/dvd. Valve what are doing?.

Its not up to Valve but the publisher, Steam cant know what is the CD-Key If the publisher dose not give it to them, Over all some games do support it

You can ask the publisher to give you a steam kry but most won't.

If it's not on the list, you can't register it.

Not all hardcopies are Steam compatible. If the Steam logo isn't present on the DVD box, probably you can't register the game on Steam.
But I don't get whats your problem. Steam isn't a mandatory to gaming, only if you play a multiplayer game where you want use Steam servers.

Unless the publisher tells Valve the cd keys for their game, Valve has NO WAY OF KNOWING what cd key you are trying to activate.

It's like me writing to you saying 'here is my key for GTA5 : XA45-444-YT74-AAA.' You don't know if A- the key is real or B-what game it is for.

I will just take a guess you have more then a few there from the same publisher.. and yes that is what you need to do if you want it, so just pick the games you like the most first and send them
