How long do trade bans last?

First time trade ban, how long does it ask? I am not trade banned but I am just wondering.

It depends how long it was set when you got it, if you got a trade ban for scamming i am assuming its perm

But why will one want to know?

Because I saw a profile who was trade banned but then he was on like a trial period trade ban or something and just wondering how long it lasted.

So like i said it will change form case to case
That is if you talking abut Trade ban and not the cool downs..

That is something different. If you cancel a trade after you accepted it previously, you get a 7 day trade cooldown.
