Can't download or update games
Currently running on windows 11, recently there's an issue downloading or updating games. Steam error says Not Enough Free Disk Space, first attempts to reserve disk space then fails to download right after. There is 1.5tb free space left in the ssd, almost entirely reserved for games.

Things I've tried:
  • Reinstall steam - Issue persists
  • Clear download cache
  • Repair library
  • Check disk partition health
  • Disk cleanup to clear files
  • Attempt to download after booting in safe mode
  • Change w/r on steam files

Any help is appreciated, this started around around summer sales and has persisted to now.

Steam needs to reserve space on the drive it is installed on for buffering and backup purposes while patching.
Steam games do not like being installed on external SSD's. Are you using a external SSD?

I uninstalled steam from my C drive and reinstalled it into the other SSD, it is not an external.
