no more scrattes on media, or get a reply from whatever support you most have a scrates on the media and its all about th protection on the media that cause this.
Said in other words dont buy box media anymore.
pc today is not even sold with a blueray drev thats my point its all going digital downloads
so i thought i could try to add it to steam and have a digital one with legit key
Yeah but that does not work since those are not Steam keys.
Steam recognizes only Steam keys to activate, you have a non Steam version of those games on standalone disc.
If you want to play those games on Steam you have to rebuy them on Steam, no way around it.
The thing to remember is that you can only use keys specifically for the service it says. They are non-transferable.
So it will say STEAM KEY if you can use it here. Those on those games you cannot.
It never fails to amaze me how some games just won't die. I play loads of consoles and computers and every time I'm having a bash on something older, I will often try out to see if online still works and I often get surprised.
I'm not sure if still up and running, but a couple of years ago Team Fortress 2 on the Xbox 360 was still not only up and running but had several players still knocking around.
but thnx anyway guys/girls
A bit of a moot point, but if it helps for the future, it's still easy and cheap to get DVD drives/burners. I bought an ASUS USB one for £20 a couple of years ago.
I got myself an Asus Zen external a couple years back because I wanted to grab some bits of some old discs of mine. Never thought I'd use one for games again however, I've since been out and got me the Yu-Gi-Oh Power of Chaos games on disc, wish they were on Steam as installing one of them is a pain and takes an age because of a scratch. Steam has spoilt me with nice and easy installs and updating everything for me.
Frankly, I can't remember why I bought mine - must have been some old audio software or something I wanted to use.
But frankly it's modern tech that has spoiled me (as well as Steam). Nowadays there's no wrestling with drivers or compatibilities much, as everything just seems to work.
I mean, for £20, I'd sooner have the thing and use it once in a blue moon than not. Plus I also do audio stuff so I still need to burn CDs.
i got my problem fixed, for now i dont need a dvd player/burner
something like that ?
