Refund going to my Steam wallet when I specified it to go to my credit card
So I accidentally bought Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin ($50) after I got $45 into my Steam wallet, and I was planning to use my credit card to pay for the 5 dollars. However, I needed to switch cards, and after I did, it didn't let me use my wallet, but I didnt see that and bought it with my card, so my card got charged $50. Now. I'm in the process of getting a refund, but the email states that its going back to my Steam wallet. How do I avoid this? Heres what the email says:

Hello Donnerfaust

Im guessing if you are mixing payments, it will all go to the steam wallet....

I mean how would steam handle a $20 Steam Card + $10 Mastercard spent on a $25 game?

Yeah, you can only send it back to your credit card/paypal account if that was the sole payment method. If you mix them with your Steam wallet it can only be refunded to that.

No, I didn't pay with my steam wallet. I had to change cards, and because of that it no longer used the Steam wallet, so it was solely the card paying for it. No money was drained from my Steam wallet, only my credit card.

If there was an issue with returning the money to your credit card, it will be placed in your Steam wallet instead.

I suggest submitting a support ticket to find out what the issue was.

For the record:
If payment is split, wallet will go to wallet, credit card will go to credit card. I know this because I did a refund like that recently and now have 1 cent in my wallet and $14.98 credited to my credit card.

You ahve to specifically chose your cc as the payment refund method. Steam defaults to your wallet unless you explicitly change it. Since you likely did not specify it in the choices given, your refund is going to wallet.
