Game Launcher Screens too small
Hello, on my new Lenovo slim pro9, when I click games to open them, the launch screen starts out what should be normal and then minimizes down. This is not the game screen, just the launch for Skyrim and ESO where I can explore options or start the game. I'd post a pic but not sure how. Any advice appreciated, thank you.

Change your screen resolution.
Change your resoltuion either in the game's settings or in the launcher itself.
Thank you, I see the settings gear and then click properties and get to launch options but it's just a bar that says advanced players can change their launch options. I'm not advanced. What do I put into this and I wonder why I even have to bother with it, lol. Steam has now launched huge even when minimized, taking up the whole screen, and overlays the teensy game launch box.

Easy way to find out is to go into your windows settings from your desktop.

Find "Display" and then see there what resolution it tells you are on.

Then choose that from the lanucher options.
Thank you, I do know my own resolution. I found a formula that goes like this:

-screen-width 1280 -screen-height 720 -screen-fullscreen 0

So this isn't as easy as just typing in "3200x2000". Even so, I used the formula above plugging in the numbers of my laptop and the launcher screen was still a teensy... weensy, unreadable screen.

I'm not sure what you mean there.

The point is whatever your desktop resoltuion is, you should match it otherwise IT WILL show either too big or too small. By matching it, that means it automatically fits.

Also make sure you choose the fullscreen option in game as it should alter accordingly.
Please specify which part you are unsure of. Launch Options isn't a multiple choice, user friendly interface where one can choose options. It is a blank box for inputting code. Incorrect coding or nonsense the program doesn't understand isn't going to suffice. I used the parameters:

-screen-width 1280 -screen-height 720 -screen-fullscreen 0

but didn't get the result desired. The launcher is so small, I can't read it. I know minimal about coding, to make changes you can't just type the name of the program you want to make changes to. You have to include it's location and other parameters with jargon specific language.
I found it in the accessibility options of the launcher itself in ESO, scaling it up to 300%. Ironically, I had to put my screen a foot from my nose just to see it but a magnifying glass would have helped more. I checked Settings>System>Display>Scale on my own computer and it is set at the recommended 200%. I'm not sure what caused the launcher to default to such a tiny scaling but I don't see any reason for it to be that small. I will have to check in on my other games and see if there is a similar way to fix them. Launch options was not helpful in this instance. Thank you to everyone who responded.

Ah that might be your issue there.

I wouldn't bugger around with scale under Windows. Because it both tends to wreck how Steam displays and mess with games like you've experienced.

I found that out quicjly when I first got on Windows 10.

While I appreciate effort, none of the answers on this thread helped, in fact, I'd say the opposite. A newb would be going in circles not knowing their head from the down under. I am curious if it's not purposeful but I know some people do jump up to attempt things they are not qualified for.

Checking the screens ratio was part of a Steam related troubleshooting, above fundamental computer level step and allowed me to recognize how to fix the small ESO load screen when I finally managed upon that menu with my face two inches away from my TV.

Skyrim load screen remains very small, I haven't figured out a solution for that because the options are for "in-game" settings only, I work two jobs, I'm renovating a house, and I'm emotionally spent because I've lost four dogs (all rescue) due to age and health issues in 13 months. I just want to enjoy the 20 minutes in a week I get to sit down and load a game. My wife enjoys Skyrim when she comes home from managing a clinic and the load screen minimizes itself behind the Steam screen, which maximizes itself in minimized mode so you have to chase the load screen to start the game. I'm sure I'll encounter this issue again with other so any further, hopefully productive feedback from the community would be welcomed and appreciated. Thank you
