Disk Write Error and other similar problems
Edit: Somehow I solved it after running a thing called EaseUS Partition Master (a trial version).

I bought a game today and, when I tried to download it, it didn't work. Then I realized I had a few updates available. Well, none of them worked either.

I already turned everything on and off. The disk is an SSD and it's the only one that's giving me problems, since I tried to install another game on a smaller disk and it worked normally.

Any ideas?

The download folders are getting filled with random files named x64(insert a bunch of letters).rpf and state(enter a bunch of numbers).patch things. All of them modified or created whenever Steam tries to download something again

Run trim over the ssd if you have never done that before. You can use Windows Drive Optimizer for this. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/defragment-optimize-your-data-drives-in-windows-54d4fed1-c96e-46db-b843-8c6b34bd27a4

Also check the ssd's SMART status / health; you can use CrystalDiskInfo or a similar tool for this.
(though other tools require you to understand numbers and more tech savvy jargon)

Lastly you should inspect the permissions on the location of where Steam tries to write the game's files / install updates to.
At the very least it should have your user level write permissions; that said... Steam bypasses the write permissions using the Steam Client Service, which I assume is running. Still, its at least a good idea to see if the location is Read Only or not

Background crapware is a common cause so let's rule that out first.

Start your system in safe mode (for obvious reasons with networking) and see if Steam downloads then.

I tried all of that yesterday and it didn't work :/
it is now downloading games at about 7mbps lol. I even uninstalled the games, deleted the folder, uninstalled Steam, changed the download region, etc

I tried dowloading the Patriot toolbox thing and it only says the disk is 100% There's no option to update anything about it

Sadly, I just tried that and it's the same. The download goes extremely slow and then just stops working :/
