While playing games, clicking with mouse reveals desktop
I've been having this issue with most of my games but especially when I've been playing the Murder of Sonic. When I click, the desktop is revealed. Any click will do it. Other games, it will take multiple clicks to do it. Sometimes it will go to the desktop, and I will have a hard time trying to get back on the game. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have assistance mode on? This basicallly makes you open stuff when you click on keyboard or mouse keys too often. Usually this is turned on for assistance with disabled or older people. Make sure it is turned off on your pc.

No, I don't have assistance mode on.

Check the settings in the game and see if there is some setting that is causing it. If not, can you try a different mouse? Perhaps the mouse you are using is broken, or requires a firmware update from the developer.

So far it's every game I own. And the mouse I have is a pretty old school one that doesn't have firmware updates or anything. It's an old Logitech Performance Laser 848nm from around 2010 or something. This is only happening with my Steam games too. I also play on Gamepass on Xbox PC app and I don't have those issues, although I mostly use a controller for those games. When I use controller on Steam I also don't have this issue. It's just when I'm using the mouse of clicking intensive games. Or if my mouse has to click something closer to where the taskbar is.

Your mouse might of worn out. Being that old, it is possible it has. Those pc mouses only tend to last for only about 5 years, and your lucky it worked that long. I suggest buying a new one if you can.

Let me compare my logitech F310 controller. It wore out after 6 months of playing games. I actually switched controllers because of it's short lived lifecycle.

I have a newer wired mouse as well. Plugged that in right now, played for a bit, but same issue. I also uninstalled steam and re-installed it just in case. Still same thing.

Playing another game, it won't take me to desktop while clicking, but it will take me to another random open program. My mouse will not move at all and I have to use the task manager or alt-tab to get back to the game.

So in that case, it must be a software issue on your pc. Check your background programs and see if anything is using your mouse. It sounds like a background program might have access to your mouse somehow.

What random open program is it taking you to? Can you name it on here please? It may be the cause of this.

It'll take me to Firefox, or the task manager, or Steam. Those are the three that I usually have on.

I gave up after some time and did a system restore. It doesn't do it anymore. Something I may have done affected it, but I'm not sure what it would have been.

How do I check which program is using my mouse in task manager?
