You can always connect your PC through HDMI to another screen or projector or whatever. I continually run my laptop through my TV at the side of my bed, so I have two screens on the go at all times.
As for controllers, that gets a bit more tricky. It's easy to connect two Xbox One controllers (or the correct 360 controllers - assuming you have the correct leads I mean), but the trick is getting them to work on games.
Many games on PC are set up to use controllers these days, depending on the game depends on whether you can use local multiplayer with two controllers. That's where it gets tricky as you'll have to check each game to see if you can do that.
for exampl e'shared/split screen co-op' like in portal 2
https://store.steampowered.com/app/620/Portal_2/
in the advanced store search there is also just plain 'shared/split screen' and '-pvp'
just look at the filters 'narrow by number of players'
