Game icons are missing in grid view mode.

This only showed up recently, could be a steam update or not.

Tried checking the "icon" options in detail mode, it's enabled and removing the appcache/httpcache folder and rebooting my router only work for a couple of seconds, afterwards some of my icons lose their background image again.

Any ideas?

Update: If you download (you must be signed up for the Beta downloads) the newest Steam beta, the issue will resolve itself.

* To Enable Beta Download *
1. Select the Steam tab.
2. Select "Change" under Steam Beta Update.
3. Select Steam Beta Update under Participation.

Good to know i am not alone, hopefully it will get fixed with an update soon since i tried everything to get it to work.

My HTPC displays all icons like they should, but my laptop and main gaming rig both have this problem.... strange

Same games on the HTTPC?
I noticed that custom and none steam games with added images display their linked images fine.
Only some of Steam's own images don't show up as they should.

Doesn't it erase all your installed games when you uninstall steam?

I did it once, and was unhappy to find out I was 1.2 Tb behind on my downloads. Even at 60mb/s, that takes a good while...

That being said, I have the same problem, and I find it annoying.

It shouldn't Horus. It's just the client and not the install files afaik.

And yeah, I discovered this issue today as well. I installed some new Win7 updates and had to reboot but I'm unsure if it was like this before. It wasn't last night. Reloaded Steam, no luck. They fixed the profile level showing zero quickly though so maybe this will be too. At least neither is critical.

Same problem here as well, I expect it'll fix itself in time. Mine were working fine until I exited out of a Steam game, strangely enough.

Same problem here. It was only happening to Rogue Legacy and I could not get it to refresh. Rebooted Windows after an update, logged onto Steam, and now about 25% of my games are missing the images. Very odd.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the Steam level issue (some accounts show up as level 0 despite achievements/badges earned).

Same problem with me here as well, big pictures just disappeared from many games on my grid view and only small icons show now, when they do show up nicely in TV mode or in list view. This since yesterday I think, maybe latest Steam update?

Yes most likely one of the latest steam updates that is the culprit.

If you can't wait for a fix you could try steam beta (steam settings), otherwise it looks like we'll have to be patient for a new update.

same issue here, seems to be a steam bug, big pictures still no appear on grid view, very annoying. hope steam works fast solving this issue

Same here, seems to be some kind of cache issue. Big screen mode also sometimes loses images. I removed the http_cache directory and that fixed it for about five minutes.
