Not if the game requires internet, which some games do. I'm not sure if 7 Days To Die is one of them, but apparently the game needs internet to play in sp. This is an issue better taken up on the games forums.

Wait, so you're cancelling 3 accounts because a multiplayer game you have needs updating?

I guess being a parent doesn't automatically make you a grown up.

P.S Someone explain always online drm to the guy. He thinks steam is bad, just wait until he hears about the ♥♥♥♥ EA pulls.

if you need to run a server to play it goes online unless you are using your pc as the server and even then steam probably considers it online only since it involves the use of a server

Your English teacher would be ashamed of you.

Most people don't live on a plane. Steam does have an offline-mode, but that works best if youi're just temporarily offline, not for people who have no Internet at all.

Other than that, you're right: Steam isn't really the best option for games when you don't have Internet. The PC gaming industry in general moves towards this kind of copy protection, though, so youi'll have to be rather selective concerning your games to avoid the onliner platforms. Consoles are still a bit behind in that, AFAICS, but you don'r really take consoles onto a plane.

Because you have to many
And this is why DRM-free games (as well as single-player games) are good things.

Steam is _not_ always-on DRM.

There IS an offline mode that is supposed to work indefinitely (obviously not for multiplayer games), but it's been bugged unfortunately for some people for a long time, and makes them log back in after a couple of weeks. Others can use it indefinitely without a problem, though.

I guess the problem here is that Seven Days to Die's "Single Player" isn't really "Single Player". It's Multi Player that you play alone.

I don't know if it's even possible to "cancel" a Steam account really, unless you mean something you're paying monthly for such as Eve Online. Games and software, once purchased, will always be part of that account regardless of whether you use them or not. The best way for you to "cancel" your account if you don't care about losing every game on it, then, would be to simply make a new email, attach the account to it, and set completely random, very long passwords for both the Steam login and the email itself, then throw that information away. Problem solved.

Or, the user will get off his couple hour plane ride, eventually completely forget that he couldn't play that one game for that trip without internet, and go back to using Steam.
