Random Friend Requests

So I've been getting random friend requests from people who when I add, paste in something like this: "Hey my friend couldn't add you (steam error) can you send him a friend request? [Enter Steam Profile link here]"
Now here's the problem, two out of the three encounters I've had have linked me accounts that clearly don't speak English, or are not from English speaking countries (and by that I mean countries where English is not their Native language) IE: Russia and Yemen I think. So I went ahead and added the first one (Thinking it was legit) and I get a response asking why I added them. So I explain telling them that I was told to add you by so and so for this reason and I end up getting a response saying something like "I don't know anybody by that name, Lol that's weird.". Now with me being a fairly avid trader, trading a few times every week, I come to expect friend requests seeing how I have TF2Outpost trades where that option is easy access. So I just want to know if anyone is experiencing the same thing and if there's a connection, because initially both me and the Random guy I was asked to add, both think that someone was pissed off at the guy and decided to troll him by spamming him with friend requests. (Also he told me he had like 6 or so FRs but I assume he was a pretty popular trader aswell so I disregarded that) So like I said let me know if you have anything similar happen to you.

Since you are a trader they want to steal your inventory and keeps sending you phishing links..
No one is really trying to add you.

And what you do... do not click that links.. there not real profiels.. there fake and when you go there they want you to login and take your info to steal your things

So what you need to do if someone send you one of these links is unfriend block and report him to Valve to take care of it

If you look you may notice the comminuty in the links is spelled worng

Actually I went to the profiles (Don't worry I didn't login) and they were legit, Two of them were Dota 2 Players and like I said, the first one was a TF2 trader himself, so while I do agree they're bots they aren't linking fake accounts from what I can see.

They just copy paste the source code and then when you view their page it looks 100% copy of a profile page from Steam.

But there are signs which will tell you that it's a phishing site.
1. If you haven't disabled the link warning you will get a pop-up which looks like this when you click the link: screenshot[steam-security.info]
2. The URL isn't steamcommunity.com
3. It opens in a web browser instead of Steam client
4. If you are logged in to Steam on your web browser by default you aren't logged in on their site as it's not a Steam site

The site look 100% legiet... best way to see is first of all if in the clinet the links will open outside of it (as its not a Steam link) second you will not be login

And i seen many post abut these... not likey its real once...

same thing here,3-4 BOTs added me sending that link then unfriending me never pressed that link because (long story) .....i added someone to add a friend ...that guy said that he dont want to be hacked again by a bot... so i left him alone....
Also alll bots have private profile so it is easy to know if they are players or not
