Well if the games aren't on her computer already then obviously she needs to download them... how are she intending to play them otherwise?

Actually, the games should appear even if not installed, assuming OP doesn't have the "installed" filter on.

That said, I can't really understand if the OP is trying to lend to or lend from someone. OP, did you authorize the person borrowing the game as well as the computer?
I'm trying to let her play my games. How do I aurthorize her computer then?
I'm 99% sure it's Steam > Settings > Family, and then there's something that lets you select up to five users that have used the compuer you're currently authorizing. It'll be under two buttons that say "deauthorize this computer" and "Manage other computers".

Edit: ♥♥♥♥, that's for users. For computer, log into her computer with your account, use the same steps labled above and click "authorize this computer" (it shares the same space as the deauthorize button).

after you share if the library is set to show all and not just install then you need to see there all the games (if you take out some that do not show like games that work with Uplay or Origen)

You sure you share the account?
I did share account. but authorize computer is what did it...

I had her log in with my account name and password and "authorized this computer" then logged out. and then they showed up. So do you have to do both?? or authorize computer/device enough...

thanks gang !!!

Haha! Awesome to hear! No problem, buddy!
Well, I would have thought you'd need to specifically authorize her account as well, but if she can play just fine, I say go for it.
I know this problem is already resolved. But, if anyone else is having this problem and authorized both computers restart Steam completely (exit the background application too). If that doesn't fix the problem, sign out of Steam and sign back in. My first option worked for me after my computer went into sleep mode with Steam open. I hope this helps anyone who is having this problem!

When I'm logged in I can see all of my games but only two of my sons shared games. If I log in as him I can see all of my games and all of his. Why can I only see two of his games and how can I change it? The two games I see are installed on his computer but there are more installed games that don't show.
In the top left of the steam dashboard, under "Store" "Library" ... you have a "Home" box, under that is a "Games" box, next to that is a clock, next to the clock is what appears to be a "Play" icon, click the play icon so that it is not blue, When it is blue it shows only your items.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
