Weird Screenshot/Internet Connectivity Problem

So...I've been searching through different discussions on here, trying to find some solution that matches my problem, and I can't seem to find it. Here's what is happening. I keep trying to upload a screenshot from a game. I'll press F12 while in game, and though nothing seems to happen, I've never taken a screenshot before, so I don't really know what to expect. After taking a few screenshots, I'll leave the game only to find my internet is disconnected. Completely. The weird thing is that I never, ever have problems with my internet connectivity, and not even when I'm in Steam games. ONLY when I'm in a Steam game AND I try to take screenshots.

Naturally, since my internet is not connected, then I lose all my screenshots and my game time stats. I've lost countless screenshots and hours over the past few days trying to figure out what's happening, and I'm a little exasperated. The only thing I'm speculating is that maybe my computer's F12 button has a shortcut to the internet connectivity, and that by trying to take a screenshot, I'm disconnecting my laptop from the internet.

Has anyone else had this problem? If it is a weird button issue with some computers, is there anyway to reprogram the button you use to take screenshots on here so I can avoid this?
