Options for Humble Bundle duplicates?
So I'm already aware I can't trade it away or anything. And I'm actually surprised this hasn't been an issue for me before, but I have a duplicate of a game I had already got from a previous humble bundle. For that reason I never redeemed it (what would happen if I did given I already have the game?).

So I dunno, is there anything I can do with this extra copy? Would certainly make me feel better given I didn't get to benefit from getting it in the bundle due to already paying full price for it :P .

You cant add a game to your library twice, if you tried it would start the installation process (it opens the usual pop up).

Gift the extra copies to a friend?

Humble bundles now link to your account. You can not give away extra copies. The only way to gift them is to select gift URL before you checkout.

So, even though I havent actually redeemed the key yet, I can't even gift it now? I thought you could as long as you havent "redeemed" it yet (otherwise why even have the redeem option/step?).

But so, if I add it to my account, I'll have two copies (steam does that?), forever? At that point I definitely cannot gift the extra copy?

At the very least, it sounds like giving it away as a gift is in the end the only real option outside of sitting on it?

Go to your humble key page and click on the icon of a gift [cube with bow]. That generates a url you can email to a friend.

Nope. They just sit there, collecting "dust". You don't get extra copies form the humble bundle and as you said, you are not allowed to "trade it way or anything".

As the games are so cheap and it is done for charity, just shrug it off. There will be other bundles with games you don't have.

It changed, go check your humble page if you got any new bundles, you get no key and you link your steam account to your humble page.

"Steam Link Linked to eram. To unlink click here"

So that humble support page is now out of date?

the last bundle i got was this 1
https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly

4 day ago, You could not separate any of the games to give away, you had to claim them all for yourself and it links your steam account using openid to your humble account and adds the games for you.

Perhaps it depends if humble are issuing a single key for each game or a single key for the bundle?

The ARMA bundle was several separate keys so I could gift some urls...

Huh....weird....so I went and checked, and for the bundle I just got, (Bundle 11) (all of which I intend to add to my account mind you) there is that gift box for gifting options.

However, the game in question that I have a dupe of is from Bundle 9 (bastion if you must know), and the gift box isn't there (again, I did not actually add the game yet to my steam because I figured to wait and ask about it, so it has still yet to be "redeemed"...which if there's no other options, I'm unsure why I even need to actually click a button and redeem it, seems redundant :P ) .

Still wondering now what will happen if I try and add it (since even gifting it apparently isn't an option for some reason, while it is on other bundle pages..).

I'm not sure when they stopped just giving keys and making you link your account, perhaps bundle 9 was before the change? Would explain why there is no gift option.

I would like this

Oook, I think I at least got to the bottom some of this. When I click the button for Bastion for Humble Bundle 9, I imagine it will give me a key, which I then could feasibly gift to someone manually. They did change it to the inked mode now where you can click the gift box. So that's what was going on there.
