Am I going to be able to get my hijacked account back?

I sent a WHOLE bunch of proof that I own my account
various purchases and confirmation numbers, credit cards I used over the past 5 years, my address, paypal email and address, etc etc.

HOWEVER, I made the account 9 years ago, and I have NO IDEA what my email was at the time I made the account. Will I still be able to get my account back without this ONE peice of information?

Its weird that I got hijacked, as I had steam guard enabled and sms yahoo email login, with no unauthorized attempts. I'm so confused.

No one here can answer that with 100% certainty, but if your only concern is about your email address, I wouldn't worry too much. You'll have to wait for Steam Support to review the information on their end.

The phishing sites are clever, and ask you for your Steam Guard code when you "try to log in" (actually them logging in as you give them your info). It's possible.

I would think that you should be able to provide enough proof of your ownership even without the very original email account. I"m assuming you have a current email account that you use for Steam right? And it's probably been in use for some time.

But you've just explained that you HAVE been phished, so you must have been. so Tirith was absolutely right to say what he said - that the ones that phish for Steam accounts look identical to Steam except for the obvious link being SLIGHTLY different (in most cases).

And an argument from authority (saying you major in networking) means very little - anyone can be caught out. I've been manager of a few computer departments, amongst other things whilst in my working days, yet I've been caught out before. Anyone can be in a hurry sometimes.

The obvious thing is just to give Valve as much evidence as you can, whether credit card slips or any sort of proof. They'll also ask you what's appropriate I'm sure, but it might speed things up if you can update your ticket (if necessary) beforehand.

One rather obvious note to add though - while you're waiting you'll need to disinfect your computer thoroughly, or you'll likely be back to square one as soon as you get it back, and Valve will not keep doing this service ad infinitum. Just a heads-up.

Yeah but the thing is I almost never log onto the steam website. The last time before just now logging in here, I probably haven't logged into the steam community in the past year.

You need the e mail you used for the account, You need secred question. Propebly the old password also ..Visa Paypall etc etc wont count for the reason you can say whatever you want ..There are a bunch of crap people over here and many story's have settle up in the past..Like my brother stole my acc blablabla the most stupid BS have allready been tolt ..Few weeks ago i read a post Help i have a VAC ban but i dont cheat...You see the picture what i meen ? People have a load of tricks to steal others there account if you not having the old e mail or secred answord then im afraid you busted :(

yeah except I have 5-8 transactions and confirmation numbers over the past years with the credit card I used and my paypal email is the same as my normal email. Couldn't they check my IP and see that my IP has been the one in use for the past 9 years, compared to the hijacker?

WORST case if I cant get my account back, how do I get my credit card information off of my hijacked account?

the payment info gets reset when any login details change.

with the info you have support can return your account just fine.

Yeah I have given 4 different credit card numbers I have used since 2006, confirmation numbers for various purchases, and my paypal email (which IS my email). I really hope it will be enough :/

Ive heard from some people not being able to get their account back just because they didn't know their original email.
