All steam game stuttering lag

I just buy new high end laptop, it's Asus Tuf A15 with Gtx 1650ti, but without reason all of my game is stuttering lag, i just see at youtube, it should be fast than this, and i believe it because i update some driver, anyone can help me fix this?

First off, make sure you have ALL power saving settings turned off and the PC set to use everything on full power. By default, laptops will have these settings on which will cause these issues.

Next, make sure that the games are using the correct graphics card (as I'm assuming there's an onboard Intel chipset as well). It might be defaulting to that and hence causing these issues.

Try those then get back to us.

Oh and if these don't work, please check your task manager while in game, and see if ANYTHING like the hard drive is reporting 100% usage.

Yup, could likely be the issue. One of the cardinal rules are whenever you get a problem all of a sudden is to ask "what did you change before it happened?" even if it seems silly.

So, if you updated those drivers, then still make sure the correct graphics card is being used and that settings are correct. Because Windows has a nasty habit of returning settings to default and not telling you.

Here some things to point out.

- Ensure your system isn't overheating.

- Ensure you're not doing multiple things as you're playing your game, such as downloading, or such that cause high usage on your SSD/HDD.

- Plug power cable to your laptop, and ensure you be running in high performance mode for your Nvidia control panel to force game to use GPU. As well ensure to be in high performance for Windows setting.

- If by chance if it's a Nvidia driver issue, download DDU, display device uninstaller, run in windows safe mode with network enable, open DDU, select your Nvidia, use only the clean and restart recommended setting only. Once your back in windows, download Nvidia driver, and either manually select the driver, or use auto detection driver, and install.

- If by odd chance Nvidia GeForce experience being the issue, remove it.

- Last thing to check if all else not working, see if you have the latest bios for your laptop, and if not see what the versions are about leading up to the newest, if related to micro code issue then this might be the reason why need to update bios to fix the problem.

reduce gpu access from steam settings, ( and besure this is advance install with clean driver install then checkbox is there.

steam user settings reduce all settings to light setup , lesser bandwide and so on, make is a ugly litttle kid , more a ruleout , this has been ongoing for many years , and it start to be a user own option or lack of them, steam has the option they are there for a reason.

and its about time people start learn laptop, is not that strong pc , and more and more people have such issue as you have now.

same as walk wilth millers stone around you, (pre-shader cache to what ever gpu accelrated option still yuor problem and steam might cause them. )

and this is why many dont know , do not think crunchyfrog and Dr.Shadowds is wrong every laptop model is diffrent and all part of same issue ( GPUdriver and power scematic is part of this issue ) even i have remove 3Dvision driver and other crap from Nvidia even that has help reduce Nvidia overcostly , this is know as Core driver only install. on even older laptop then yours.

and again why so few notice this, ( if you dont have a laptop, you will never learn this, + you need skilled enough person to ID such, gl with that they are rare. )
computer expert will get new gear even faster , problem is this is my own work laptop, i will not use such normal , and now i think you get it, gl find tech person that learn such.
and yes they are there, but same time here, forget it, maybe 200.000+ here. and not all keep reading and maybe dont help.

i simple just dont think all add up here Gtx 1650ti , that card is alot better m then most laptop.
most have 1000 or lesser, you sure you have right Full performance modre and not some entertainment mode. i had to edit my mode.

Kinda work little, the fps kinda become higher but my total war game is still lag spike.

Before i download the game, i check google how to make game faster (Ik it's weird why i must search how to make game faster if you have high end laptop) and one of the question is i must up to date your driver, so i use driver easy to update some driver like my Gtx 1650ti, amd radeon graphic, and other that i forgot, and i just update a few only because it take so long, after taht i download Tf2, total war rome 2, total war shogun 2, and i play it, and it only 25-60 fps and it so diffrent in some youtube reviews, and even my old laptop is not laggy like this, i try to fix it like power saving, reinstall my gtx 1650 and more, and oh yeah i try to make it to low setting and nothing happend, it just have same fps and still lag like tf2 and total war game, i mean tf2 is old game it should get more fps.

Well, there's your problem right there - Driver Easy.

It is well received generally as an easy piece of software to use, but it has one MASSIVE flaw. There is no guarantee you are either getting original drivers from the manufacturer, nor indeed the up to date ones.

So, given that framerate issues like this are typical of wrong drivers or old drivers, I'd lay good money on this being the problem.

What you should ALWAYS do is go to the manufacturer's website for your laptop - if you read the documnetation with it, it usually tells you EXACTLY where to go, but if you can't find that just Google it.

All major laptops and desktop manufacturers have their own websites and the support *drivers, documentation, etc) on their pages. You should ALWAYS use that first port of call.

If you have a GTX chipset (my laptop, for example has a GTX 1050) then the Nvidia utility will tell you automatically when there's a new update which makes this even easier. So why you're using a third party program in the first place is unnecessary.


As for the future - I think you're a bit confused about making your computer "run faster". The only thing that can make a laptop run slower than it should is POWER SETTINGS. That's exactly how it should be because there are two modes for operation - battery and electrical supply. Both need to be accommodated. As to why you need to Google this when the answers again should be on the manufacturers website is another mistake.

If I'm missing something, please let me know. But I'd ditch that Easy Driver and use the manufacturer's website and ONLY use official drivers, and use Nvidia Experience utility and follow what it tells you.

Hello i have a solution for that

First of all go to advanced power plans , then choose your current plan and set max Processor unit to 99%. this turns off Turbo boost and games become smooth but windows works a little bit slower
