It's been ten days now. I hope it's not going to take too much longer. My money was quick enough to leave my bank account and it's not quick enough to go back in.
Banking systems cancelling out of a charge have varying results in how long it takes to re-appear back in your account. Normally, it is 3 days for most but can take up to a month in other cases or months in very extreme cases like one guy in Pakistan that waited 4 months for his bank to release the funds back to him.
It's worth checking again to see if the charge was still there. "Seconds after a purchase" the money hasn't left your account, you are just looking at a hole. It usually takes a day or so before the money actually goes anywhere. You'd be surprised how slow money moves through the banking system. They go to great lengths to try and make it look like the money is gone from your account ASAP to prevent people from overdrafting.
Steam replied to me and they told me my refund was cancelled. Now I have to find out why. Also, they claim they never got a payment when I purchased my game and I know they did because at the time I had £39.99 pending in my Steam Wallet and I never noticed it was pending. I bought Sniper Elite 4: The Deluxe Edition for £64.99 thinking £39.99 was going to be taken from my Steam Wallet. When I noticed my Steam Wallet balance was pending from a refund, I checked my bank account and I noticed £64.99 was withdrawn so Steam did get the payment. That was when I requested a refund of the £64.99 to my bank account that was approved and when my Steam Wallet funds past pending as in available to spend, I'd buy that game again where £39.99 would come out of my Steam Wallet and the other £25.00 is taken from my bank account while expecting that other £64.99 to return to my bank account that never came because Steam cancelled it behind my back and flogged me off with advice about contacting my bank when that person then should have told me then my refund was cancelled. Steam misled me, they wasted my time and now I have to wait longer for my refund. There's something very iffy going on with Steam.
So check to see if you gave backdoor access to your account to some shady site. Support tickets closing themselves is a common symptom of a compromised account.
