I assumed it may be a bug as I can clearly still post on the community, I don’t care about being banned from video games forums, it’s just having the large red alert on my profile for months at a time when I’ve already read and agreed to the alert.
Now, you are being vague on the message. Care to post what it says?
I’m not sure what’s vague about the message as it stated that I have been banned from the steam community until November (the 8th I believe) and that I wouldn’t be able to post on here until then so that part is pretty straight forward and there is no issue with the message itself, the issue is that the remove alert function doesn’t appear to be working and I can obviously still post on the forums.
And again, the account alert will remain unless support removed the restriction or the ban expires.
You closing the window marking it read will only deactivate the pop up window when you log into your account but the account alert itself will remain as I stated above.
For clarification it’s the same type of window as what appears on step 2 on the above link, you can see at the bottom of the window the procedure for permanently closing it.
I know what it is. I've had them myself before.
Why did you claim only a steam employee could close it or it has to expire then? It’s got a clearly labelled permanent removal feature.
Only the pop up window is closed and won't pop up again.
But the red alert at the top remains active until support removes the restriction or it expires.
This is how account alerts work.
That is not a "remove the red notice" checkbox.
That is only a "stop opening a pop up window that takes focus above the client window upon every login" checkbox.
That's the only reason why I asked what the notice actually said.
Obviously something odd is going on that shouldn't be going on.
