Mic sounds like lawn mower

On a zoom call or recording or something, my mic sounds fine. No background noise, and easy to understand.

On TF2, people say they can't understand a thing I'm saying because it sounds like a loud lawn mower or weedeater whenever I hit the mic button. I turn everything around me off so it is silent, and don't talk, I just push the voice chat button and they say it still sounds like a really loud lawn mower.

I know they're not trolling because I've tried it on over 10 servers and they all agree.

I use the mic built in to my laptop, and I've never had this problem before

I'm guessing what you mean is that swooshy weird, bit-crushed type of sound that kind of warbles and distorts everything?

That is something I've experienced in Windows 10, and I fixced it by going to windows settings and disabling ALL other sound devices except the ones I was using.
