Fallout New Vegas does not appear to be installed.

Blew $22 on the game, installed it. theres no play option, just an install option on the launcher. Ive tried ever fix i can think of still nothing. please help?

What happens if you press install then?

it just say in an error message, FNV does not appear to be installed, and then tells me to got look for a setup.exe and run it, but thats not in the game directory, so i have no idea where to look. im on Win8.1 Pro btw.

Right click game, properties, local files, verify cache.

If that doesnt help, ask in the games forum section.

thanks, ive tried both things though. when i verify the cache is say something like one necessary file is missing but will be retrieved. i close the window, launch the game, and the same thing happens.

run steam client as administrator, click on FNW - wait untill script install all components, reboot
run steam as usual
+ add fallout nv .ini fix for new processors and add Run in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode + Run as Administrator to all exe in game folder
