Steam and Windows 10 - Microphone not working properly

Hello,
I upgraded my Windows 8 system to Windows 10 and everything worked fine, until i joined a CS:GO Competetive Match. My Teammates said, that they cannot understand me. Later, i tested it with voice_loopback 1, my Mic was horrible in-game. It was distored, deep and slow. My Mic works fine in Teamspeak and Skype and i've already tried all of the Troubleshooting stuff.

Anyone else having this problem? Any possible fixes?

Because it's in Steam voice chat too. Basically everything that is using Steamchat (L4D, CSGO, CSS, CoD, Voicechat, Facerig etc.)

I am having the same problem, I have not been able to find a solution. I am running windows 10. Was running windows 8.1. I am using a Lenovo U410.

It seems to be a Lenovo/Conexant Soundcard problem.
Either Valve did not optimize Steam for a new Conexant driver or Conexants Drivers are not working properly.

Just downgrade back to Windows 8/7, you can upgrade to Windows 10 anytime

1.Go to your volume and right click.
2.Click on the recording devices.
3.Click on mircophone propeties.
4.Go to advance and turn off audio enchancements.
5.Now test your mic on steam.

German/Deutsch:

1.Mache Rechts Klick auf den Lautsprecher Knopf unten Rechts.
2.Wähle dein Aufnahmegerät aus das du benutzt.
3.Klicke auf Eigenschaften
4.Gehe zu Erweitert und mach den Hacken bei "Signalverbesserungen aktivieren" weg.
5.Teste dein Mirkofon bei Steam.

Worked for me. / Hat bei mir funktioniert.

This is most likely the right answer, however, all having this problem should see the list of problematic programs also in case that can help.

that doesn't work for me ... I can use my mic in skype and w cortana , but not steam ....
steam needs a fix
