And this proof needs to be checked everytime you want to start a game. Else you could just copy the game directory to each of your friends PCs and they are able to play it - either instantly or after you have logged into your account once on their machine.
If steam finds out you are transferring your account to your friends they will terminate it.
Yea, well gamers at one point used to think the same way about paying people to use their products. So now we are here. Blame them. My computer is plugged into the wall and my internet isn't going anywhere. DRM is nothing to me.
You don't have to 'go through' anyone. All you have to do is keep an internet connection. Nothing else. It is nothing to worry about.
That is what happens when people mistreat businesses. Additional security gets placed. The bad apples ruin everything for the good people. That is the way of the world.
You can get to a connection and log in online...then go offline. You should be able to access plenty of titles for a while.
Dude....lets not get into a debate on this. I don't buy into all that crap most people complain about with DRM. I am not part of the gamer victimization crowd.
So by doing its original intention you think it is no longer about its original intention and is just a means of controlling people....because it is doing its job. OK.
It was just kind of a workaround. I think there is a list of DRM free games on here somewhere. Maybe try searching for it? You should have something you can run from the .exe. Even without an internet connection. Only a few games do this though.
