Found a Religion button not working

On Civilization V, I'm being prompted to "found a religion". I cannot proceed in the game until I do this. However, when I attempt to do so, the "found" button does not respond. Any suggestions. I working on an iMac OS 10.9.3

Are you are talking about the 'found' button in the popup window or the button over the mini-map?

The most common problem has been that players have not selected all available benefits when multiple choices need to be made.

or make sure your great profit is in the city you want the religion to be founded.

Maybe you have to choose your beliefs still. They don't look like buttons iirc, just click the text "choose founder belief" or something.

im having same problem on win7 i ve bene playing civ 5 for almost a year, jsut bought all dlc.s asks me to found a religion button wont do anything, and I cant play anymore. its pissin me off, just spent a bunch of money for the upgrades (dlc's) and now my game is f'n broke

OK, let's go through step by step. Once you have selected found religion frrom the unit actions for your great prophet you should get a "Found religion" option above the minimap and an icon above that.

1. On the main screen click "Found religion" or click the circular orange icon and that should take you to the found religion screen.

2. On the found religion screen click on one of the religion symbols across the top to select which religion you want to found.

3. You then need to select your beliefs. Click on the first line of the five beliefs on the middle left of the screen and you should get a list of beliefs on the right. Select one.

4. Repeat for the second belief (and for the fifth one if you are playing as Byzantium).

5. The found religion button at the bottom right should change colour from black to blue and be selectable.

If that isn't working at what point is it not working?

Your second great prophet can be used to enhance your religion. Once you have selected the unit action you have the same steps but choose beliefs for the third and fourth belief lines.
