How do I get a visa vanilla gift card to work on steam

I know you have to register the real cards but this is the GIFT version that says something like congrats or happy birthday I have used these before and they have worked fine any help would be very much appreciated thanks

Just add funds the regular way and enter the card info?

thats what i did but it said something like it had insufficeant balances\

Then maybe you don't have enough balance to purchase or add funds? Do you know how much balance the card itself has? Have you tried the website ? Don't do it too much or it'll lock you out.

It can be one of two things with pre-paid debit cards.

Either you haven't activated it, or the funds haven't been made available for use yet.

Either way, the best bet is to ring the card provider's support.

yeah its for 50 and i just tried it for 5 and it worked but i dont know why it wont work for 50

THat is only really for when you get the generic "there has been an error" time-out issue. This is "insufficient funds" - it's not the same error.
