Games take forever to launch on my secondary SSD but load fast when in game
Tech specs
7800x3d
6950xt
32gb ram @5600
Games installed on my main drive will launch normally but games installed on my secondary drive will take like 5 minutes to launch or wont launch at all the game stays on a black screen for a while then starts or the process just stops have already tried cleaning the drive and reformatting still same issue
Any way to fix this?

Look like 2 GPU card issue a IGPU and maybe you forgot the Nvidia card you are using.

and maybe you are right and only use IGPU card.

check all updates on AMD and brand board or brand name pc.

and you might want to ask that game forum, because what are you tring to run, maybe the other there can tell its high-end game and gpu card is the problem, games today can be so big that run them game on minimum settings is not good. ( and who know if this is just not a update issue ) gl with it.

The way I interpret the Original Post is a very slow launch from start (before the black screen even appears):

Sounds like a software caused issue. Considering modern motherboard designs, it practically cannot be caused by hardware unless the SSD (or its controller) has a defect.

You have an AMD spec motherboard so, the SSD channels have direct access to the processor and RAM. (Sata SSDs are more quickly processed on based AMD motherboards)

The processing and its speed is decided by the chipset, also called the Platform Controller Hub.
You need to have the latest drivers for this chipset installed on your machine otherwise it will not function properly; and normally we assume you have. (please check it to be sure)

Other than this one driver, idk what can cause slowdowns.
The crashes there as well though indicate something is wrong.
One other thing that could be the cause is a broken cable (too little power to the SSD)

I recommend at least running CrystalDiskInfo and see the smart status of your storage device, and check the chipset driver.
but I am clueless as to what the cause of this can be.

I recommend examining the BIOS / UEFI interface and see if there is some option there set that I don't know off or something.

Edit: if I interpret the OP wrong then, please explain exactly the behavior you experience, because 'for a while' could be a few seconds, even though the launch itself takes 5 minutes.
I also assume you looked for errors in Windows Logs, etc. and saw nothing wrong

What the model of your 2nd drive SSD?

Have you done health check on your 2nd drive SSD?

Have you done error check for bad sectors on the SSD?

Do you use any 3rd party apps to manage files, and permissions, or hooking, and scanning things?

I don't think it's a performance problem as ark installed on my main NVME SSD open quickly and runs great. all games on my SATA take forevor to launch while the NVME takes a normal amount of time but when I get into the game I get good performance

Did you test cable as other here point out. ( Elucidator )

old ways to test disk is use it in another pc to see if its the disk or not.

also part of port and its controll it use on the board, and thats why test in other pc has sometimes solve is it the disk or not, and you can also check Brand harddisk support page just incase they know or have test app.

I think Elucidator also give you some good clues of where to look (and things to check).
