forgive me I am not really a computer guy
However, you have stated that you had it working at one time on your PC, so is that correct ?
If so then perhaps thinking back to what you did maybe to your PC that changed that may have cuased this ?
Installed any new third party programs ? See this list and read it all, please, very carefully, top to bottom.

You posted your specs, but you missed the one thing I asked you. Please read my post again.
(Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, etc.)
And Mcafee is on the list as you have seen. You can try to whitelist games and Steam in your antivirus settings, but that may not always help.
Also, make sure the game is allowed through your firewall, but I would assume you would have seen a different message if it was not.
Also, do this twice just to make sure.....

I understand you have 10 hours on the game, but 10 hours on THIS PC ? The one with the problem ? That matters, you see.
EDIT..I found this on an older thread. It may help you as this is probably runtime related.

IF so, that surely would have been helpful to know about before now.
Are you sure your PC is fully Windows 10 compatible ?

Have you tried to disable Optiimus ?
"Zjones1994, be aware that any laptop with Optimus will cause problems with Solidworks, unless you can disable Optimus. A number of people have reported this problem with the G750JS/JZ models, where people bought them to do rendering, then found that they couldn't get the application to use the Nvidia GPU, it would only go to the integrated iGPU on the Intel CPU."
Only use the recommeneded installaton proceedure and the newest and relevant driver from the website of the manufacturer of your GPU hardware.
It seems you have "upgraded" your PC there without knowing exactly if it will run or what needs to be updated and/or changed for that new OS, but please forgive me if I am mistaken here.
You need to make sure your PC will actually run Windows 10 properlly. It SHOULD fine, but you need to make sure.
Then, you need to get the drivers for your PC from the ASUS website concerning Windows 10 and your hardware that you have in your PC.
Then, you need to get the GPU drivers as I have stated here above.
