Call of Duty World at War crash to desktop at startup. Please help
Whenever I start up waw it shows a black screen for about 2 seconds then it goes to desktop. The game stays open and sometimes when it goes to desktop it wil leave part of it black but i just have to close the game to fix it. I have been looking everywhere for about a month so ive decided to write my own thread. Please help I would greatly appreciate it.

What are your system specs please ?

Are you sure all your drivers for GPU are updated and correct for your OS and cleanly installed ?

Have you tried to verify the game cache as of yet ? I am assuming you have since you have had this issue for some time, but we must cover all the bases, you see.

Have you searched in the game forum for this game to see if others have had the same problem and what they may have tried to correct it ?

All my drivers are up to date and Ive only had this problem since I got Windows 10.
I have tried verifying the game cache and like I said Ive looked everywhere and have found zero results. I had this problem before but it fixed its self when it went into safe mode but that no longer works. I had a problem with Terraria and when I fixed that it made it to where I could play Waw on safe mode. If youre wondering what I did I went to control panel, then hardware and sound, then device manager, turned on show hidden devices, went to network adapters and deleted everything that started with microsoft.

It's probably Windows 10 to be honest, you may need to rollback your OS

Perhaps you know this already or have tried it, but have you considered running the .exe in compatability mode for Windows 7 and test this issue further ? The store page requirements stop at that OS version, however I am aware that W10 is a new OS and perhaps the store pages just have not been updated yet in some respects.

You mentioned above about "fixed itself in safe mode" so can you maybe elaborate on that a bit ? Safe mode while using Windows 10 ? In safe mode your GPU drivers are not loading, so I am not sure how you could play anything, unless you started services and applications manually from safe mode.

Also, do you have any programs from this list whatsoever ? Please read it all CAREFULLY. Thank you.

I havnt tried running in compatibility mode and im not quite sure how.

When I tried running the game and it messed up and couldnt find anything I gave up for a while. But everyonce in a while I would try and run it and when it wouldnt work I would have to close the game through task manager. After closing it that way when I tried to start the game I would be asked if i wanted to start it in safe mode because the game wasnt closed properely. That worked until I tried to start it while it wasnt in safe mode although it would completely reset my settings and I would have to fix the resolution and controls. But that no longer works and I cant play it at all.

I have BitTorrent, CCleaner, and Skype.

Something thing I forgot about is the other day my friend came over and he was able to play waw when I had only my monitor plugged in as I was using my tv for my xbox one. Sorry for not mentioning this earlier.

Same with my monitor it works if I start it in safe mode first then start it again in normal mode.
This is only if I have either only my tv or only my monitor plugged in

You don't have to keep quoting my posts here, as it just make the thead longer and longer. You should use the edit "pencil" icon in the top right of any text window where you want to include any further thought of information. Every time you make a new post like you are back to back, it pushes others down the line in the forum that also need help, you see.

Get rid of Bittorrent and Skype, and make sure CCleaner is not running in monitoring mode, as it constantly runs in the background if set to. I have personally seen Skype and Bittorrent be a big problem before in this very forum. Use your control panel and uninstall them properlly. Fully uninstall both of them and reomove all traces from your system of them also.

Are you sure you have your monitor plugged into the GPU and not your motherboard port for video ? Sorry, but I have seen that happen before.

You can go to the game's .exe file in your common folder and right click it and then select properties and then click the compatability tab and choose Windows 7 and apply that. I don't have any experience with Windows 10, but I am assuming you have that option with compatability modes. Use the internet to help if you get confused on this step.
