Microphone sounds like Satan on drugs.

Hi all, I recently got anew headset because my old one broke and when I went to go test it out in the Steam voice settings, I literally sound like Satan on drugs. Does anyone have a fix for this? My mic works fine with Teamspeak and Skype but it's just Steam.

LOL...Teamspeak and Skype are on the list...big issues with them and Steam it seems.

Umm, bit of a problem here, I just uninstalled both of those programs, mic still sounds like Satan.

Restarted after uninstalling them ? Checked the rest of the list for OTHER problematic software ? The whole list from top to bottom ?

Are all your drivers fully up to date with your OS and your PC hardware ?

Is this Windows 10 ? If so, have you tried to disable audio enhancements yet ?

Guys try uninstalling Smart Audio really it works.Either you can uninstall it manually or by a third party programm thats called update perfect installer.Tried it confirmed that it works.

Mate, all I had to do was uncheck the Audio Enhancements! Haha, thanks very much fam.

Only problem now is you can't hear me on teamspeak unless I put the volume down to -30. :/

Well, if you still have Teamspeak installed or reinstalled it since you said you uninstalled it, then it can still lead to mic issues or maybe other issues we don't really know about yet. I am not sure, though.
