Cannot login into one of my Steam accounts: "Could not connect to the Steam network."
So, like a lot of Steam users I have multiple accounts. Recently I was playing Payday 2 on one of these accounts and I could not see my achievements. So I thought "I'll just restart Steam and get on with my life." Well unfortunately for me I can no longer log into that account. It is not an internet issue because I can still log into ALL of my other accounts it is specifically this one that I cannot log into. This is also all on the same computer. I have looked at other forum posts and this problem still persists. The closest I came to fixing it was one fix where you delete all files in the steam folder except for the Steam.exe and the SteamApps folder. I did that but then when I tried to log in I was greeted by a new message "Steam is having trouble connecting to the Steam servers." And I was given the option to retry or cancel.

I just do not get it.... This account does not have steam guard enabled. Whenever I try to log into this account through the steampowered.com website the request just times out and nothing happens. I have seen other people fix it by doing the whole remove all files except apps and the exe then they start it in offline mode then go online and its fixed. But the worst part for me is that I cannot even go into offline mode because I cannot get past the, "Steam is having trouble connecting to the Steam servers." with the log in client. While I could understand this being an issue with my own internet or Steam server problems I can connect to all of my other 4 accounts perfectly fine with no problems whatsoever. Any help is appreciated I will keep trying solutions that I find and post if it becomes fixed. Thanks

EDIT: It appears I am not alone with this issue as there is another topic just like this a few threads below this one in the Help and Tips section. This might be attributed to me participating in the new streaming beta on my account that I can no longer log into. However I deleted all the steam files and I can still log into my other accounts so I cannot grasp how this might be relevant but I thought I would share it anyway.

Some people, like me, have lost their entire inventory. Other can't log in, some accounts look like they were never setup.

This seems to be a server issue. We have to wait.

I can't get into mine on the steam app, but I can log on, on the browser.

Can you see the window that gives you the choice to "go offline" into Steam ?

yea

Yeah, from the sheer amount of people posting about this it must be either from the beta participation or just general server problems so hopefully it will be fixed in the near future.

No I can't, I type in my username and password click the login button and I get this tiny window with retry or cancel, no other options. Pretty sure this is on Steam's end though so I will just wait it out.

hmmmm....I thought the window that had the "retry" button also had the "go offline" choice too.....sorry if I am mistaken....

No you are totally correct, at first I had that option but then after reinstalling some of the steam files I was met with this new window at the login screen that said steam was having trouble with their servers and I was not given the option to go into offline mode.

edit: And the reason I cannot login is not due to a missing file or else my other accounts would not be working either

Same here. I can't login into my main acc. I can log only into my smurfs. When i want to login on steam page it says the login or password is wrong. What's going on?

Ditto. I have only one Steam account, and I can only access it in offline mode. Logging in here was a royal pain, too. Took several tries to get Steam to recognize my login (add same number of "Prove you're human!" tests).

Hopefully this nonsense gets fixed soon...

I had the problem as well but now I can log in. Try now or a bit later. Also all my items are still in my inventory, it was just some stupid server issue, dont worry everyone!

also, there is a box under the steam guard settings that "does not store account credentials on this computer"...if you have that checked, it disables offline mode as the warning under the box selection says....just for your information if you don't know...

steam is having trouble connecting with steam servers fix 2015
I have tried:
- uninstalling steam and reinstalling it
- deleting .blob , except there are no .blob files
- entering a random password, then entering my real password
- deleting all files expect 'steam' and file 'steamapps' only for steam to update with all files again
- disabling Mcafee firewall
- disabling windows firewall
- allowing steam app to 'communicate' through firewall

And yet, NONE of them worked. I just purchased a brand new Lenovo 2015 gaming platform laptop, and the first thing after the general set up I did was downloaded steam. and I keep getting the same message : steam is having trouble connecting with steam servers.
I have checked the servers, they are just fine. I know my password because I am-if it's not obvious enough- online through the website.

Every fix video and thread i have read gave basically these options and none of them worked. it's April 2015, so why isn't steam working by now.

Please let me know what I can do to fix this.

Thank You
