Call of Duty 1,UO,2 : Single Player wont start
Hello! I'm having problem with old Call of Duty games.. Those are the original CoD, CoD: United Offensive and Call of Duty 2.. The problem is Single Player won't start while Multiplayer works fine... What could be the problem? I tried everything.. I'm running on Win10 but that shouldn't be the problem since MP works fine.. I played CoD:2 like year ago on Win7 just fine... Also to mention CoD4:MW and onwards all work fine

Here is link to video what happens when I try to start it https://fliiby.com/file/hz6c7qm6pzm/

Hello!

I am running CoD1 on windows 7 64 bit edition.
For me the problem was exactly the same, but i'm on windows 7.
To resolve my problem I totally reinstalled my computer, and was thinking of windows update problems. So step by step I let windows update do his work.
After installing the security update for windows 7 64 bit: KB3086255 the program CoD won't start anymore , exaclty like your video. So I deleted the update and my problem is resolved.

For windows 10 users you have to follow the link below, point 5
This link explains what that update does because its a windows 10 feature made available for win7 and 8, it might help you
http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/68930-windows-update-kb3086255-blocks-sc4-from-starting/

At #5 it explains how you can resolve this problem.
Please let me know if you succeeded on this one.
As I may ugrade my pc in the future to windows 10, I'll be glad to know this worked for both CoD 1 and CoD:UO.

I hope it's clear enough, I did my best helping you in English.
Grtzz. Roger

Not sure it can help in this case, but from what you posted here, you should know about this support page...

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289

But what the user above posted is more helpful and more likely perhaps, to be the fix for the issue, according to what he or she posted that is. Thanks and good luck to you.

EDIT..Running the file verification process after a troubleshooting method is tried each time is a good idea also...

Did you use the links that were provided to you above in my post, for example, so far ?

EDIT..In that video, you seem to be launching the game directly from the .exe, unless I am missing something, so why are you not launching the game directly from your Steam client library if so ?

Cuz I didn't buy it from steam, had it since release day. On Activision they told me to seek help on Steam, since they moved support for older CoD games here. And no I didn't use any links from above, it fixed itself before they even posted it. As I said the game launched one day normaly and it's been working since then.. I have no idea what was casuing it to fail and what caused the fix. I've been trying to fix it for like a week with no sucsess then 1 day I actully missclicked and it launched xD

For those who got to this thread and it didn't help you, just replace the .exe with a cracked/No CD .exe file.
