Really? Thanks for helping me out. Greatly appreciate your input! 17 years... pardon me.
It's New World, and as I said they acknowledge that there is no reason for my banning. But I cannot object and I am being slandered and money stolen. They claim they dont need to give me a reason. I suggest they have no evidence and they banned me to keep my money, before I could request a refund.
To play games. The ban on this game you mentioned has zero to do with how long you have been on steam or purchased games. Amazon games is the only one who can either appeal your ban or compensate you in some way.
Actually about that... its funny how you claim to be "Christian"... but your actions arent very Christ-like, are they?
They have no reason and have said as much! Steam is the one not refunding me because I was banned before I could request a refund. It's very much a STEAM (also) problem. My time, and money absolutely should contribute to my character for any instance, let alone this one.
First you specifically say the ban was for "nothing". Whether this is true or not doesn't matter. What does the game say the reason is? A popup window appears saying:
PERMANENT BAN
Your account has been permanently banned.
Reason:[Insert reason here]
Blah blah blah
What's it say under "Reason"?
Go appeal the ban.[www.amazongames.com]
Be polite. Don't threaten legal action or make accusations of slander/libel or theft. And don't expect an immediate response. It is Friday night.
Out of curiosity, did you have any third party addons installed, such as the Overwolf map? That's caused bans in the past.
Steam has literally NOTHING to do with this. YOU merely bought the game on Steam. You agreed a transaction with them which they fulfilled.
Your issue is with the devs of the game and the ban you received. The frontline staff WILL NOT tell you why this happened for the dead simple reason that doing so helps scammers. NO company does this.
What your best bet is going forward is to either find someone higher up at the company there to speak to, or write (yes old fashioned pen and paper) to the CEO, and explain your situation. They will send it down to whoever deals with it.
Trust me, if you ever want to get through to a company, getting hold of a manager is one thing, but getting that manager to have a visit from the CEO to look into a case is quite another I assure you.
I am speaking about a Steam and Amazon issue wherever I can speak. I get nothing but dead weblinks where they say I cannot do anything about this and to have a nice day. Thats not going to happen and its not ok. I am bearing my heart here because I dont know how to clear my name and get my money back.
The popup window only said "Suspicious Software or Corrupt Install" and thats it. There was no reason. I have been through every step of many processes which support had asked me to do, including: validating, reinstallation, reinstallation of eac, repairing eac, updating windows, scanning for malware, disabling all non system startup programs (which there arent any).
I have no third party anything running. This is a workstation I use windows for gaming. I would have Discord up, a fan control program to make sure my workstation doesnt overheat, and steam.
When I am banned as a "cheater" that is a serious accusation. It is 100% false, thereby dirtying my name; slander. it will negatively affect my Steam account. If they are so concerned about their names, why cannot I be, about mine?
I have appealed to them. Understand I have an email saying they acknowledge my banning but there is no reason for it, and they dont know why. It says try again in 24 hours. Then I get the notice from Steam I have been permanently banned (conveniently) before I could request a refund. Then I get an email saying they dont need to tell me why i was banned, and that nothing can be done about it. Then I get another email saying it has been escalated...
I am trying to work this out! I have been for two days... Initially responses from support were super quick and helpful. Then today. Thats where I'm at. I am fed up and none of this is fine.
It doesn't work like that.
I've successfully sued a national magazine for libel against me and it does not work at all like this.
The very first thing you need to have is that the person being slandered must be CLEARLY identifiable. As you use a username, an pseudonym it fails right there. SO don't try that one as it won't go well.
PLease do as I suggested and keep it calm and polite because thtrowing shade like this about is going to get you nowhere but it will rub their backs up.
Keep it calm, keep it polite and just state plainly what happened. DO NOT make accusations and threaten. Just say what you di and leave it at that.
The issue is Steam wont refund me because I was banned before requesting a refund. This stops me being able to ask for a refund. So thats a Steam thing, in my book.
I will absolutely look into your suggestions. Thank you for the discourse.
Well you're still wrong because it's an AMAzon thing. THEY banned you. Valve CANNOT check into that.
So it remains on you to sort it out with Amazon which ever way you go. You NEED to do that whether you wish to continue with the game or whether you get a refund.
That's the point.
I strongly suggest you take a deep breath and calm down. I know this is frustating but you're lashing around and not thinking straight.
The fact is Valve is out of the picture at this stage. You NEED to sort it with Amazon. And you can contact them via support again and ask for escalation. But yet again DO THIS politely, because if you go in ANYTHING like you've done here, you won't do anything but annoyt them.
If that fails (and it likely will because frontline staff won't be able to check this stuff) then write to the CEO and get their head office addres from their website.
Truist me, written letters WORK. And to the CEO as I already explained is VERY effective. Just be respectful and thank them for their time.
LOL I cannot win eh? Throughout my discourse with support I -OF COURSE- have been quite calm and reasonable... I am here upset, and frustrated, at the outcome of my calm and reasonable emails. I feel this is my last resort. I am continually being told no dice.
I will be definitely following up with support- as you say- despite them in their emails telling me they wont respond to my emails anymore and that the issue is closed.
Although I do have a number of conflicting emails about escalation and permanence.
I genuinely appreciate you and your time, this evening.
