Turning off Friend Request

Is there a Way to turn off or disable the ability to recieve friends request? since about a month ago iv had no issues, but im really sick and tired of logging on to 2-3 new random friends i have no interest in being scammed by.....
If there is no such setting then WTF is keeping steam from adding one.....theres clearly an issue with scammers.....

Not that I'm aware of, which is quite lame if you ask me. I used to get those random invites as well so I cleaned up my friends list of people I didn't really know or play with and I left pretty much every Steam group I was a part of, aside from my private one, and they completely stopped. You may not like it but that's the only real way you have of stopping all the spam.

One workaround you can use is add to friends users that are never going to come back online (small accounts that do not seem to be active) as if you fill your friend list with even just invites i think no one will be able to add you no more...

I have been getting spammed for months and months. Over the years I have gotten the random invite from people looking to grab my 1 TF2 unusual but about 3 months ago, the spam started and it hasnt stopped. At first I would see the various ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ messages from ones I added asking me to click on a link. The ol' "Hey this guy wants to add you as friend but he can't. Click on this link idiot" ploy. After the 2nd time getting that I realized it was just spam coming at me and regardless of blocking, ignoring and generally telling anyone who invites me to ♥♥♥♥ off, it doesn't stop. Valve needs to add a feature to not allow friend requests. I would rather face that inconvenience vs. the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of invites I am getting now.

If somebody says here is my offer, or send a link and your browser want to download something just don't do it. It is a virus. Keyboard mapping or something spy virus. I don't know, i newer developed viruses, and I newer will. Even if i make my inventory and profile private these requests are just coming, and they make sick. Its lame valve newer added a thing against friend requests. I does not mean I don't want to make friends on steam, just simply make the hackers , and spammers gone. I hope they will solve this problem after Gabe release the Half Life 3.

Why don't you search the suggestions forum to see if somebody has suggested this feature. If not, create a thread yourself and see if it gains any support.

The solution is just one option.
New thread is not necessary, if there is an old subject that you are searching.

I'm wishing there is a friend limit option. Like right now I'm level 65 with a max limit of 575 friends, but I want to bring the maximum limit to let's say 10. That also would be a nice thing to have too.

Have close to 50000 users blocked on my account, all scammers/bots. If there was a way it would be the best thing ever created by steam, what would be even better is a autoblock. Which only blocked users that are level 0 - 1 on their steam account. Since most bots are lvl 0-1. :)

I usually block them then block all communications depending on the profile setting,rep,level

me too. you know what's ridiculous?
I got request-spammed by around 5 bots in a row, all CS:GO bots. I don't even have CS:GO, lul.
