Faulty Hardware
How can i check if i have faulty hardware in my pc?

I recently built a gamine pc with great specs!

Intel core i7 4970k CPU

GeForce GTX 970 GPU

MSI Z97 Mother Board

and a 1tb HDD

I am running Windows 10 pro

I have a NetGear A6210 for my internet

A Cool Master V650 80 plus Gold PSU

And i have 3 fans, and the cpu cooler that came with my cpu that had pre-applied thermal paste.

But sadly its getting 120 fps then it drops down to 20 fps every few seconds in csgo. I have a friend who gets 350+ fps and for him it will stay constant, but i have the exeact same specs. Is faulty hardware the problem or something else!?!?!? I would really like the help from someone!

Again, that is for the OP. With all due respect and I do mean this, you have kinda hijacked this thraed at this point.
i just looked online to make sure that cooler would work in his case and a found muiltiple sources saying no (and sorry if i did hijack this thread it was not my intention)
If I have somehow misunderstood you here and you were saying it would not fit the OP's case, then please forgive me as that is my fault. I thought you were also looking into getting a cooler. The posts have been coming here so fast I may have missed something so please forgive me if so. I did not want to sound rude here to you at all....hope you understand.

Check the dimensions, as I am not sure because it may be close to as tall as the EVO 212.

Well it has great reviews and it is all copper. I have heard good things about that one. 2 ball bearing also, so it should last. Not a bad price, either. The design does only allow for one fan (as far as I know), but as long as OP does not overclock too much, that should not be an issue.

Applying the paste correctly (as in "tining" the heatsink for example) and using good paste at that is another thing that is important. I use the ArticSilver cleaning and prep kit that you can get also.

true that this is the highest rated one on newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007&cm_re=paste-_-35-100-007-_-Product
(also that fan is much shorter than the evo so it should fit

I personally will never use anything but ArticSilver 5. I repaste laptops also with it and get much better cooling in them. Use the recommended method for the proper CPU application always, as shown and listed here...
