Then, try to download games or use Steam after that. If you have a game fully downloaded, then do the verification for that game.

Do you have any other programs from that list ?
I am not saying it will solve this, but you are troubleshooting a problem. That takes steps. Can you not simply reinstall Webroot later if it is actually found to not be the problem ?
EDIT..It does not matter if you never had a problem with any software before. That is irrelevant here in this case. You have a problem now. So troubleshoot the problem and remove any anti-intrusion software that may be causeing it.
Are you sure you have everything updated from here below.???

There is another way to test this but with Steam only....
Boot your PC into safe mode with networking and try to launch Steam in that boot and download games.
My computer was biult for me last week so I would hope it has all the lates driver.
What does that mean, please ? Either you updated all the drivers from the manufacturer's webpage that I have asked about and linked above, or you have not. Which is it, please ?
Are you using a router for this safe boot test ? If you are, bypass that router and use ethernet only.

I'm using BT fiberoptic broad band and can ONLY plug in to the router.
Routers can very often be a problem. We can try to continue here and "assume" for now that your router is not the issue, as "normally" the download corrupt error is not related to network connectivity, as far as I have seen that is. Often, it is a problem with software that is on your computer, such as anti-intrusion software.
That is why troubleshooting issues like this in safe mode with networking can help, because those programs are not loaded in that boot.
Get all your drivers updated for now from the manufacturer's website only. After that, we can continue if needed. You are troubleshooting the problem and that takes steps. One thing at a time, step-by-step. Good luck and post back if you need more help or you get it fixed. Thanks.
it loads a couple of % then stops each time. So for the smaller games that was enough time to complete their download but my 4 larger games keep stopping.
So it looks like something that is intermitent and keeps cutting them off after roughly 20 seconds each time they try to download.
Still wondering about the drivers here. I don't see where that has been taken care of. Can you post the exact wireless device that you have in that computer ? You should be able to see that in your device manager under "network adapters".
According to what you just posted above, you don't have the "download corrupt" error as of now. Unless I missed that part.
the Network adapter is Intel(R) Ethernet connection (2) I219-V
I suggest that you search Intel for the latest driver or use that feature in Windows to do it for you if absolutely necessary.
