My game saves keep disappearing?
Recently, several of my saved games from various games are dissapearing. A few that I have confirmed are Fallout 3, The Sims 3, and Telltale Game of Thrones. I went to their steam files in my computer and found that for all 3 of them, the saves folder is emply. I definitely know I didn't delete them myself. I also noticed that, for some reason, a couple of the game folders for these games got moved into the "My Documents" folder and they definitely were not there before. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, it just seemed really out of place.
Also, I don't have Games for Windows Live on my computer, so don't suggest that it's deleting my saved games because it's not on here to begin with.

Fixed it myself, I think. For some reason there were two different save folders for each of the games and they were moved somewhere under "My Documents". If anyone else sees this and is having trouble, just search "Saves" in Windows Explorer and you'll see a list of all the save folders on your computer and you can find them and move them back to were they're supposed to be.

What is your operating system ?

Windows 7. I found all my saves and moved them back to games files in the common file of the Steam folder, but my game still won't load the saves. Not sure what to do now. The saves are there, but I can't access them in the game.

Some games store saves in the documents folder, as you may know. Have you tested this by keeping a copy of the save file in BOTH locations ?

It worked for the Sims, not for Game of Thrones. I still have no idea where FO3's saves are, but I don't mind restarting that game. I'm just worried about making it work for Game of Thrones.

Okay, I moved the files slightly for Game of Thrones and it fixed it. Thanks for your help!

You are welcome, but where did you find the files in this case above ? Just asking for future knowledge here in the forums and for the community, you see. What do you mean by "slightly", please ? Thanks.

When I moved them back, I put them in a folder titled "Saves" when that didn't work I realized that there was no Saves folder originally and that the save files were just mixed in with everything else. I just made a small error when moving them back.

I see. Yes that makes sense. Some save folders for games have other titles like "savegame" or "saved games" or sometimes they are even in another whole other folder in the documents folder.

Take King Arthur for example. The documents folder has a Neocore folder, and inside THAT folder is "savegame" or whatever it is called, as I cannot remember right now. The point is, some games save progress in a strange way in a strange place.

Thanks for the update and good luck to you.
