USB Microphone does not work in Steam Chat or any Steam Game (but does in Windows)
I have a USB headset where the microphone does not work but the ear pieces do. It's tested in Windows and works fine there, is the default device for both playback and recording devices and works with other apps such as Skype and Audacity.

It doesn't work in Steam Chat or in any other game I've tried. It worked up until yesterday and I've changed nothing on my system.

I've tried unplugging, un/reinstalling drivers, reinstalling Steam... It doesn't show up in the microphone test in Steam settings at all even after selecting something different, reselecting, checking for devices, etc...

Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions?

no cuz i never seen 1 usb support mic and speaker at same time! : I it may work fine on pc but not on the steam cuz the 1 usb must reciv and send at same time its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up so mabey your windows and other apps can handle it but steam cant! and steam isnt made for voice chatting so
ofc it cant handle it!:steamsalty:

The first thing worked. It has to do with my Nvidia drivers updating. I closed every nvidia process and it's working again...weird

Same ♥♥♥♥ here, also USB mic. Blue snowball. GTX 970 GPU.

Yeah i did, now i uninstalled GeForce Experience and installed again, (No beta) and now it works, weird but yeah. That is how to fix it. :)

Hey, beta software can cause trouble. That's the way it is. That's what "beta" means.

Hey, beta software can cause trouble. That's the way it is. That's what "beta" means.

I just never expect betas to affect other software too. I didn't end up uninstalling it, I just closed all running nvidia processes.
