Every time I click in a game, the program crashes and/or flashes to the desktop.

So my other games such as runescape, LoL, titanfall and so on don't crash or show any lags like the one described in the title! When it doesn't crash, it goes out of control and flashes to desktop making them unplayable :( It's not my computer for sure (new-ish alienware) and I'm using windows 8

Make sure all drivers, programs, and OS are fully up to date, also.

I'm not much of a computer guy -_- any idea how I can verify my drivers, programs, and OS?

Go to your start menu and find Windows Update and run it. Check for updates and install them if available. Only install driver updates from the manufacturers website.

What is your GPU device ? Nvidia, AMD...? Go to that website and find the latest driver for your GPU and update.

Other programs like your Flash Player and Antivirus need to be checked also unless you let everything update automatically. The OS and the GPU are the most important ones I think, according to what your issue seems to be here.

yes I did :) looking at stuff that could potentially help me! It was missing a few updates and I think that will fix it right up :D thanks a lot.

I have this problem too! But with other games, not just steam.
(I use Windows 10)
(Hopefully updating my PC and adding Stream and it's various folders works for it at least).
