How do I convert VPK files to MP3?

You don't. VPK files are not sound files, they're package files. You can extract them using GCFScape.

VPK are source files but they can be used for soundpacks. You can convert them into mp3 but I never knew how to.

No, you can not CONVERT them to MP3. You can EXTRACT MP3 files from VPK files.

Either way you converted it to an mp3 file.

Well, thanks anyways. Turns out I already had GCFScape for some other reason. It should work now.

Tf2 keeps its menu music here:
inside tf2_sound_misc_dir.vpk -> root\sound\ui -> the mp3's named "gamestartup#.mp3" are all the menu songs.

Not sure if you are looking for where tf2 keeps it's music files because over the years it has changed a bit (some search results still give the old locations). Just as an fyi if you did not know. If you did then just disregard this :)

ya might have to do it individually mate although try n look it up again

use gcfscape and go into root and the sound folder should show up :) dm me if u need more insight or help
