Using console to start a quest in New Vegas, need some help please.

Hi all,

I ran into the issue where I killed the Omertas prior to finishng the House Always Wins IV. I have tried everything, and going back to a previous save means almost a complete playthrough. I finished the Omertas about lvl 25, and I am lvl 49 now.

So HAW IV cannot be completed due to a bug that is known to the game.

I wanted to have this play-through finish with me giving the Dam to Mr House. I can go and kill him and move along with "Change of Management", but it was not my wish.

I have tried various console commands to restart my quests, fix my quests, nothing. I have resorted to trying to start HAW V with a console command, but I always get a Compile error. I am not an expert on using console commands and I do not understand the different between Base ID, Quest ID, Quest Stage ID, etc.

Would somebody be so kind as to post exactly what I need to enter in the console to start HAW V.

Quest ID is 00147889
Quest Stage ID is 001429f2
The stage should be 60

That is to initialize moving against the Brotherhood fo Steel.

I would greatly appreciate any help!

Shouldn't you be trying to set House 4 instead of tinkering with 5?
setstage 147888 53 I think, for the Omertas being hostile.

No, that did not work either. No matter what I try to do, I cannot get HAW IV to complete. On the Wikia page in bugs in mentions this problem

After eliminating the Omertas, Mr. House doesn't recognize that they are gone. To remedy this, load a save point before killing Big Sal and Nero, go talk to Mr. House and make sure you go through all the dialogue on what to do about the Omertas. After this, killing Big Sal and Nero and returning to Mr. House should allow you to finish the quest.

Well, it happened here and my save game for prior to killing the Omertas is centuries ago. Thus I thought I would try and kick start HAW V to continue.
