I dont know how I can get a working ocpy.

NO guarantees that you'll get it to work on modern Windows though.....
So, are you aware, that Mage Night Apocalypse has only had a single crappy PC port? And no, it will never be on Steam. Probably not on GOG, either. This is a business site, and if a game will make no money and generate no traction, then why would they host?
You might try mobygames, they have ancient stuff that even GOG or Itch.io won't host.
As for a refund, no, you cannot refund games after 2 weeks or so many hours played. Your stuck with it like glue and it is stuck to your account.
You could hide it or put it in the library under a category that says "non-working games" like i do.
From here you should be able to play your old games. Most VM's dont have access to your GPU so you might have to research how to set that up. Nothing ChatGPT can't walk you through or answer for you.
If your going that far, myswell play on a virtual PC too. That can also be done for alot of video games.
VPS's cost money. Virtual box is free.
