Is No Man Sky player still alive?

Yo i wanna ask smth. I've actually wanted to play No Man Sky because of the gameplay, the enormous map and i thought the multiplayer feature added even more fun to the game. But i was wondering if the game community is still alive because i want to play the game with other people in it too and i thought myself that it'll be boring if there's only a few people left online. Why do i thought of this? Its actually just because that the game have already been released a long time ago and i thought that because of this maybe a lot of people got bored of it...

So, are there still many players playing this game or its practically dead? Or at least... almost
