Start Steam with Windows AND Minimised to tray ?
Is it possible to have Steam start with Windows AND be minimised to the system tray or even the Taskbar?
I know I can have Steam start with Windows, but I'd rather not have it in my other family members faces when it does. It always comes up maximised. I can't seem to find a setting which will allow it to start minimised.
I can't seem to find any info about it in past posts either.
Any help welcome...thank you in advance.

I thought I was clear...I want it starting with Windows, just not maximised.

I got your straight answer, Follow my directions. Disable steam starting with windows in steam settings. 2nd open steam shortcut properties one on your desktop put -silent at end of the target. (this is mine for example "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -silent (make sure you get a space between quotations and -) 3rd take, copy the shortcut paste it in the start up folder for windows 10 located here: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Done test it out

take care and have a safe and merry Christmas.

And they were providing an alternative because what you're asking for can't be done. It's easier to just not have Steam start when Windows does.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yeah, no need to jump in make me look like an idiot. I understood what they were doing - I did not need clarification. My question clearly states AND. Maybe say nothing if you have nothing to add.

The difference is that I have an open mind and am more than willing to be proven wrong. I do have an opinions towards those who like to talk down to people. When I see someone respond with "I thought I was clear...", it's a bit more confrontational than I'm comfortable with.

Having intellectual discourse without resorting to name calling and confrontation seems lost in today's age. Every one has to be edgy to some degree.

Yes - thank you - it works exactly as I wanted! It would be so much easier if only those who knew what they were talking about actually answered the questions. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well! :)

You confronted me because you thought I was talking down to someone, and in doing so, you made me feel like an idiot. It was you who was edgy because you felt the need to defend one who didn't need defending. I agree that saying "I thought I was clear..." sounds confrontational, but it was not meant that way at all. I was not talking down to anyone - I was "again" clarifying what I was asking, since "AND" didn't do it. Sentiment does not always come through well online. I wasn't name-calling, but it sure felt like you were. I felt like an idiot. There is nothing wrong with being proven wrong. It's how we learn. But we don't need to piss in one another's faces to get to the truth. Nothing you said did anything except make me feel bad, which made me react to you.
