How do I get more storage
I have the basic 223 GB of storage in steam and i can’t download any more games without deleting more of my old ones. I don’t understand or know anything about SD cards or whatever, I am here to play games not learn about storage lol.

Is there any much simpler way at looking at it because I really want to try and download Hogwarts Legacy this week. I only need another 70GB pls help

Go to your Steam settings and then Storage, it will show how much of your space is taken by your games, DLC, etc. and how much is taken by other stuff.

You can also sort your games in your library by disk size and see if there are any huge games you wouldn't mind uninstalling.

Well time to learn about Storage and buy a new SSD ...
Here's a Windows trick but you can only apply this once...
Right-click your disk and pick properties.
Checkbox "Compress this drive to save disk space"
Click ok and apply to all files
Wait a long time.
This might save you an additional 1/8th more 'space' though everything will be slower due to Windows having to uncompress each file whenever it needs it.
You cannot double apply this disk-wide setting.

Also uninstall any old games and leftover folders in your steam library directory. That would usually be the most useful thing to do.

If you want something more long term and have a tower, go to a computer store for a new, larger SSD. I would suggest getting the largest that you can afford to get. And sorry to say, but Caduryn is right, you will need to learn at least the basics about storage.
Sorry but you NEED to find out about storage. That's one of the thing you need to learn with ANY online service like Steam.

You either sacrifice what you already have downloaded or you buy more storage - simples.

NO, DO NOT get SD cards as they are not recommended. They can work but they can be ruinious for your experience too.

I typically buy another USB hard drive when I need it. I bought one a few weeks ago for £40 for a 2TB drive. At that price it's a no brainer./

Don’t do this it will cripple the ability for any program on that drive to run well

Storage space is hardware limited your not getting more without getting a bigger ssd

Agreed this is a terrible idea if you do this. It will compress stuff that needs decompressing when you want to use it.

Therefore it will greatly slow things down and of course when it decompresses to be used you lose that which you initially gained.

Been using it for all my games for 2 years now. Ofc the effectiveness may vary and only works on Win10 and upwards.
