Steam games on external ssd 300 GB disk space wasted?

I have moved a few games (6, 245 GB in total) to an external ssd.
They are shown as 245 GB, but the SteamLibrary folder is shown as 549 GB.
I have looked at every single file, but can't find anything that big.
Is this normal?
Where does the extra 300 GB come from?
Why is it taking up so much space?

Try Use Treesize, to locate what is going on.

If you do not know mods and High-tekstture pack dlc, can have huge impact on games then maybe its them free DL you might have forgotten here.

Yeah strange, it was an economy mod for the Truck Simulator, without graphics or anything.

Mods can be wobbly for such things, as it entirely depends on the quality of coding that goes into them. As they're often amateur productions, they can vary greatly.

I've had mods for games like Assetto Corsa that reserved a load of space but seemed to have difficulty either clearing the space up afterwards or was badly coded so it was inefficient and wasting space.
