Your dad must of not recognized the charge and disputed it with Visa. Consider yourself lucky. If it happens again you can be permanately banned.

Is my account in danger or will the restriction be lifted after 9 weeks?

How many people have access to your dad's credit card? Your account will return to normal after the 9 weeks but any future infractions will likely be dealt with a harsher punishment. If your dad has Visa return the $5 to Steam then your account will return to normal a few days after.

Thats why you got the ban in the first place because your dad had visa do a chargeback. They went easy on you and only gave you a 9 week ban. I am telling you to have your dad REVERSE the chargeback he already did.

No problem. It may take a while for Steam to update your account or you might have to contact support to get the ball rolling.

same thing happened to me, could you tell me if my account will return to normal after the nine weeks ? because I'm really stressed right now, I bought so many games legit without a credit card, and I don't want to lose my main account. Will I be able to purchase games again ? and play on VAC servers ?

You will permanently lose access to everything except your games.
No market, no community, no purchasing new games, no VAC secured servers.

You need to fix it with support.

This is disappointing how easily you guys accept such on the edge commercial habits from STEAM.

I've recently been restricted due to have managed through PAYPAL to force a refund from STEAM due to a game not actually meeting STEAM shop page requirements, which is roughly a scam from STEAM since they support the devs by selling their games.

I'll probably do it again if I feel like I'm scammed and I will certainly sue STEAM if they ban my account for good, since they so badly inform their customers about the products they sell to the point if you follow their very own advices you may not be able to decently enjoy their products.

You did this to yourself. That is not how you refund games on Steam, so if you got restricted, that's on you.

A chargeback is about the worst thing you can do on a Steam account.
