How much money does steam take from a market sale?
When you sell on the market, not all the profit goes to you, but is there a number or percentage that steam gets from each sale?

10% goes to the publisher, 5% to Steam. Minimum of $0.01 for each fee, so it puts a minimum price of $0.03 for items on the market.

EDIT: Whoops, mixed up the percentages. Fixed.

When you purchase an item it shows you he break down of the cost. As noted above you will see it is 5%/10% fee.

Buyer pays the fees, not the seller. The seller gets 100% of what they asked for. The price, for the buyer, on the market reflects the seller's asking price and the fees.

So that means the prices are a little bit cheaper outside steam market? :tank:

Kind of. But you can't exchange Steam wallet funds without using the Market.

so, I am thinking of selling all of the items in my inventory to buy my self a vanilla butterfly knife, should do this? my inventory is worth 140 dollars and 140*0.15=21 and 140-21 is 119 and I have 3 dollars extra on my account, so that means I have over 120 dollars which is what the butterfly knife should cost.

If you're still interested, i recommend valuing your inventoryat csgo.exchange, posting some trde offers on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and trying to trade directly for a knife, or trading your items 1:1 (even trade for exact value) for keys and then trading the keys for a knife
