Access Issue with Watch Dogs and Farcry 3 After Ubisoft Account Was Stolen
Hello everyone,

I’m having issues with two Ubisoft games I own on Steam, Far Cry 3 and Watch Dogs. A while ago, my Ubisoft account was compromised and linked to an unknown email, so I lost access to these games even though I purchased them on Steam.

I’ve tried creating a new Ubisoft account, but I still can’t play these games because they keep asking me to log in to the old Ubisoft account, which I no longer have access to. I reached out to Steam Support, and they recommended contacting Ubisoft Support. Unfortunately, I haven't received a clear solution from Ubisoft Support yet.

Has anyone in this community faced a similar issue? Or does anyone have any suggestions or alternative solutions that could help me regain access to these games? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

The only solution is to work with Ubisoft support and recover the old account.

Ubisoft games that you own, even on Steam, are still tied to your original Ubisoft account.

Steam support cannot solve Ubisoft account related issues:
Contact Ubisoft Support - https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/help

You'll want to use Ubisoft's account recovery form:
Here - https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/help/account/faq/account-recovery

Assuming you manage to recover your Ubisoft account, Please take correct account security measures. I'd also say that you should ensure all your other accounts are secured as well.

Actually, their pc is probably infected with malware. If i were OP, i would run malwarebytes and do some other safety stuff to get rid of it, considering one of their accounts was compromised, who says their steam account is also not secure too?

Thank you all, actually my Steam account was stolen and I managed to get it back thanks to Steam's help. But I just realized that my Ubisoft account was also stolen. And I tried to delete and will buy the game again but can't I resigned myself to seeing my two games just displayed in the library without being able to be played.

If your steam account was stolen, your pc is still infected. Do this or you will lose your accounts again. Also change your email password.

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

You have to recover your Ubisoft account. Either that, or hide this game's so the games won't be displayed in your library.

I’m looking for some help with an issue related to repurchasing two games, Far Cry 3 and Watch Dogs, on Steam. A while back, my Ubisoft account was compromised, and I lost access to it. Steam Support advised that I need to work with Ubisoft to unlink my old Ubisoft account from these games. However, Ubisoft has been unresponsive to my requests.

Now, whenever I try to repurchase these games on Steam, I receive a message saying that my purchase can’t be completed because these items were previously owned on my account and removed. Steam Support informed me that the same CD keys will be reissued if I buy them again, which means I’d still be linked to my lost Ubisoft account.

I’m hoping there might be a workaround or a way to gain access to these games again. Has anyone faced a similar issue, or can anyone suggest any other options?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

now that you mention regaining access, you can buy them on another Steam account.

If I buy from another Steam account and gift it to my account, will it work?

No. You'll have to play them on that other Steam account.

Either
1. Recover your Ubisoft account
or
2. Buy the games again on a new account
