How to Increase transparency of profile steam

I would like to put more emphasis on my background profile of steam, as the central part of the profile is dark gray and you can not see the background. How can I increase the transparency of the front part of my profile? Must have a certain level of steam? Which is the level?

i am pretty sure i have seen a high level profile (over than Lvl 100) that had a more trasnparent profile than the mine :O
