Missing Executable
I tried to download War Thunder, and, upon trying to run it, was given a "Missing Executable" message. I was taken to a help page that explained how to fix it in Windows, but I am using Ubuntu 14.04. What should I do?

Try to download the game again
Do you meet the system requirements?:
MINIMUM:
OS: Most modern 64bit Linux distributions, SteamOS Processor: Dual-Core 2.4 GHz Memory: 4 GB RAM Graphics: AMD/Nvidia Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 11 GB available space
I've played War Thunder on this computer before, using Windows. It ran fine. I assume this means that my system is OK.

And your current Linux build is a 64-bit and not a 32-bit one, right?
It could be that steam has changed the way it runs on a Linux
In case it did not sink in yet, are you running 64-bit Linux? The only 2 executables in the "War Thunder" directory other than "updater" (which is 64-bit Linux) are (if you first installed steam recently your path would begin ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/):

efflandt@XPS-8100-1404:~/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/War Thunder$ file aces aces: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (GNU/Linux), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.18, BuildID[sha1]=927631f959eff59060b57b83ddd1b4441cb8c1fd, stripped efflandt@XPS-8100-1404:~/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/War Thunder$ file aces.x86 aces.x86: PE32 executable (GUI) Intel 80386, for MS Windows, UPX compressed
I'm pretty sure my system is a 64-bit. (I could not find the files MaddDoktor posted - the only Steam folder I could find was the one in my home folder, with the logs.)

"Pretty sure" does not equal absolutely sure, with all due respect. You need to be sure, as this error can possibly come from having the unsupported version of the OS.

Look in your system infomation in your control panel to be sure
I was wrong - its 32-bit. No War Thunder for me, I guess.
Thanks for the help.
Sorry that you cannot play the game
You can always reinstall your Linux and use a 64Bit distribution this time.
